A Blessing in Disguise

Six people were trapped in Wu Chung House on 9th Sept.  I was one of the victims, and hoped to share my experience and feelings with you.
That morning, I went there to visit my dad as we had planned to go shopping in the nearby stores after he finished his work.
However, right before entering the lift, the electricity went off.  All lights were off and so was the ventilation system.  We went for the fire exit but it was locked!  We tried to phone for help, but the reception device of the building was off and thus no signals could be received.  And there were no ways for us to open the windows as it was a glass wall.
Hopelessly, my dad and I sat together and started chatting.  By his estimation, there should be a guy on the 3rd floor who was so impulsive that he would break the glass and throw paper slips for help.
At that time, we chatted about lots of things like his work, HKDSE, China’s political environment and the global economy.  We chatted so long for the first time, and it was also the first time that I could get the feeling that the man in front of me was my father.
Cling!  The glass wall was broken and a fireman came in.  Looking at my watch, it was 4 p.m. You may think that I would feel happy as I was rescued.  However, I hoped that the time could turn back to 11 a.m., when we started our father-son chat, the most pleasant chat we had ever had.
That day, I learnt the importance of communication and I hope that all of you can treasure your family relationship.
