Title: The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me

This is a story of Billy, the giraffe, the monkey and the Pelly having a window cleaning company called ‘The Ladderless Window-cleaning company’. They went to the Duke of Hampsphire’s house to have their first job. The Pelly’s beak could slide smoothly backwards into his head and the giraffe’s neck could become longer. They use their special skill to help others.
I think the giraffe can use its special skill which can make its neck become longer and I think it can use this skill to help the police to catch the fugitives and confiscate the monkey. Then, Billy could put the wanted people into Pelly’s mouth so Pelly could close its beak so that the wanted people could be stuck in Pelly’s beak. They could also use this method and help others who were in a problem, like being stuck in a deep hole.
I like Pelly the most, because its special skill is really good, just like how the story told us. Roald Dahl wrote that Pelly uses its beak to catch the thief who stole the jewel from a lady with an enormous chest and flaming orange hair. The second use of the Pelly’s beak is to get water from the water tap and let the monkey sit on the giraffe’s head and clean the windows. The third use is to get the cherries on the top of the tree. I think Pelly could help the firefighters to put out fire so that the firefighters would not get hurt easily.
I think the message of the story is to dream and to tap into our talents to help others and fulfil our wildest dreams. People should help each other and make the world become friendly. I think if we help other people who need some help, even hearing what he is saying. Then, when you are in trouble , others will help you and help you get out of trouble.
I think the ending of the book is a bit strange. It is also the only one defect and that is the main characters having a farewell before finishing cleaning the windows. I think Billy could help them finish cleaning the windows before he looks after his customers in the shop, because Billy, the giraffe, the Pelly and the monkey are best friends. I think best friends should help each other and do things together.
In general, this is really a good book. ‘The giraffe and the Pelly and me’ is meaningful. Although it is not as funny as other books, I highly recommend this book to you.
