Write a short book report and suppose one of the characters in the book visited your school last Monday. Tell what happened and how you felt.
The book that I am going to share with you is ‘Charlotte’s Web’. It is about the special life of a little pig, Wilbur. When Wilbur was born, it was small and weak. Therefore, Mr. Arable, who kept pigs, wanted to kill Wilbur. Luckily, the daughter of Mr. Arable, Fern, was a kind girl. She begged her father not to kill Wilbur. At last, she sent Wilbur to Mr. Zuckermans’ barn. In the barn, Wilbur met a lot of friends like a spider called Charlotte, a rat called Templeton and so on.
Charlotte is the best friend of Wilbur. When Wilbur was unhappy, she would talk with him. And when Wilbur was going to be killed, she still tried her best to save Wilbur even though she was also facing her own problem. I appreciate her action. Also, I think Wilbur is cute and obedient. They are my favourite characters!
Guess what? Wilbur visited my school last Monday. At around 7:30a.m., Wilbur arrived with his new master, Mr. White. Since Wilbur became famous, many people wanted to buy him and Mr. White had offered the highest price. Therefore, Mr. Zuckermans sold Wilbur to Mr. White.
During the morning assembly, Wilbur performed some actions. ‘Some pig!’ we cried. Then, he jumped up high. ‘Terrific!’ we said. After that, he stood up! ‘Radiant!’ we shouted. Finally, he stood up and turned around. ‘Humble!’. We were all shocked! I thought Wilbur was a hard-working pig. He was just a runt when he was born, but now, he was a terrific pig!
One of our classmates asked where Charlotte’s babies were. And Wilbur answered, ‘why do I need to take care of them or talk with them? I am now a famous pig and I am very busy!’ . Although Wilbur was a famous and terrific pig, I really hated him. When I was reading the story, I thought that Wilbur was a good pig and he loved his friends! But now, everything had changed! Wilbur would not take care of the babies of Charlotte, who helped him even though she was going to die! How could he forget how much Charlotte had helped him?
I have learnt that people will not thank you no matter how good you have been to them. Therefore, I will not do things for thanks or gifts.
