The forty-sixth Annual Carmel Sports Day was held on October fourth and sixth in 2010. It was held at Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground.
During the first day, it was sunny. The opening ceremony started at 8:00a.m. First of all, the principal, Mr Kung Kam Tim made the opening speech. Then all teachers and students sang the school song together.
There were four Houses in Carmel. They were Loyalty House, Trust House, Intellect House and Virtue House. Students took part in seventeen events that were split into track and field events. At the sports ground, the athletes did the warm-up exercise. On the spectators' stand, it was full of students, teachers and parents. The cheering teams cheered loudly, too. When the race began, the atmosphere became exciting and tense. Unfortunately, an athlete was hurt. He was sent to the hospital immediately.
On the second day, it was cloudy and windy. Luckily, there was no rain. It was the final of the Sports Day, so a lot of parents came to watch the events. The most exciting event was 4x100m relay of teachers. All spectators stood up and cheered for their House.
After the last event, the Parent-Child Brisk Walk, it was the time for the prize presentation. The Overall Champion was Virtue House. Wong Pui Ling from 2D broke a new record at the Long Jump competition, too.
Finally, Mrs Leung Ip Yau made the speech in the closing ceremony of the Sports Day. She introduced a lot of advantages of sports and encouraged students to do more exercise.
It was a successful Sports Day. All attendants enjoyed this healthy activity.
