This story began in a big opera house in Paris. There was a horrifying message in the opera house. Many people said there was a ghost in the cellars. The message was passed to the dressing room. The peace and quiet of the dressing room was suddenly disturbed by the performers. They felt very frightened. Then, some strange things happened in the opera house.
Christine always heard a voice. The voice taught her how to sing sweetly. Christine’s singing was improved a lot. She became more famous. People loved to hear her voice. At the same time, a man called Raoul always listened to Christine with a special intensity. Actually, Raoul had known Christine before, but Christine didn’t remember him.
Christine had a singing teacher called Erik, but Christine could only hear his voice. He told Christine that she must love him. Therefore, the most of the time Christine should follow him. Every moment, when Erick called her name, she would hear him immediately because Christine thought that the voice belonged to Erik. However, Raoul didn’t believe that Christine always followed Erick. He doubted. Both men loved Christine. Who would Christine choose in the end?
My favorite character is Erik because he is a kind person. He lets her go finally. If I were Erik, I would not let her go because I spent a lot of time teaching Christine how to sing sweetly. If I let her go, I could not get anything finally. But after I read this story, I have learnt a valuable lesson from Erik. If you really love a person and if you want her to be happy, you should set her free.
I love this story very much. Though I have read it for a thousand times, I never feel bored because it is really touching and inspiring. The story teaches us that love is important and we should not be selfish.
