Nowadays, parents are more and more concerned about the intellectual development of their children, buying them food with high nutritional value or asking them to join tutorial schools in order to boost their intelligence, there are actually a number of qualities and skills that are important for children to become successful individuals.
First, having good communication skills is the major contributing factor for most of the successful people in history; they have many friends to help them succeed. A person's intelligence and ability is very important, however only with this is not enough for the success. Learning and getting support from friends is also an essential factor.
In order to make friends with others, you have to be a person whom people think is comfortable to hang out with and to spend time with. What quality does it take? Mainly, it is generosity. No one likes to make friends with someone who is self-centered. Ask yourself, have you ever made friends with these difficult people and does this friendship last long? Obviously, no.
At the same time, the ability to make friends is essential for leadership which is particularly developed in the world nowadays. Leading others to achieve some goals is not an easy task. The basic thing to do is to have good relationships with team members. To do this, you will have to have good personality and a caring heart.
To achieve all these, parents, schools and the government can help in various ways. First, parents have to teach their children to be generous when they are still young and when their personality is not established yet. For schools, they can organize more extra curricular activities to let the children have a taste of how to deal with others, how to make friends with others. It can definitely boost them in communication skills.
Finally, the government can launch more leadership training courses and to train more frequently teenagers' ability in leading others and how to work in a team. Also, the government can invite some successful people in society to give talks about being successful to both parents and children to share some tips and strategies on why they can succeed in various aspects. I am sure that they will understand and benefit a lot from these talks. Lastly, I hope all the Hong Kong youngsters can gather all the qualities and skills to be successful.
