A letter of advice to my friend

Hi Pat,

How are you? In the examination last week, I saw you hid your notes in your drawer. Why did you do this?

I don’t know why you did that, but I believe that you don’t want to do that. Is there any problem on studying? If there is a problem, feel free to chat with me. I can help you. But even so, you shouldn’t do this. This is a dishonest behaviour, to yourself and the teacher.

Maybe you think that the teacher will never find it out, but I still encourage you to admit your wrongdoing. This is about honesty. And if the teacher finds it out, the result may be very serious. Demerits might be given! Is that really worth to take this risk? Besides, even if the teacher does not find it out, then you may try it again and again…and until one day, your behaviour will be discovered. Is that really worth it?

Also, honesty is really important to us. Have you ever heard the story of George Washington and a cherry tree? Washington cut down his father’s favourite cherry tree. Although his father was really angry with it, Washington still admitted that he was the one who cut down his tree. At last his father did not blame Washington, but appreciated his bravery and honesty. This story shows that honesty is really important to us. Even Washington had the courage to admit his fault, I think you should do it too. Maybe the teacher will reduce the punishment because of your honesty and bravery. I’ll be supporting you!!

At last, I really encourage you to admit what you have done. If you’re scared, don’t worry. Don’t forget that I’ll always be here supporting you!!!

                                                                                              Best wishes,

                                                                                              Chris
