One night, I was awakened by the sound of distant thunder. As I opened my eyes, I found that I was in a forest and was wearing the Red Riding Hood’s clothes! I was shocked and scared. Oh! What had happened to me? Suddenly, the trees in the forest cried, “Hi, Candace. You are now Red Riding Hood because we need your help! The real Red Riding Hood escaped from the story and hid in the forest. But we can’t chase her as we are trees. Can you help us to find her?” I felt excited to help find Red Riding Hood but I started to get worried of how to get back to my world. The trees seemed to know what I thought and grinned, “When you catch Red Riding Hood, you will go back to your room immediately.”
I quickly started the mission and walked through the forest. I didn’t find any evidence that helped me find Red Riding Hood and I almost got lost in this story world. Then, a wolf appeared. It asked me, “Do you know where Red Riding Hood was? I’ve been looking for her for days and nights and I can’t find her. The story will be changed if we can’t find her!” I was very worried. I thought for a while.
I asked the wolf, “What does Red Riding Hood love?” The wolf’s eyes gleamed and said,” Oh yes! Red Riding Hood loves flowers very much! She must be hiding in the “flower land” in the forest center!” The wolf quickly led me to the “flower land”. Wow! It was such a beautiful place! There were roses, sunflowers, jasmines planted in the “flower land” and it had such a good smell. We saw Red Riding Hood sleeping in the “flower land” and surrounded by the beautiful flowers. We sneaked towards Red Riding Hood and tried to wake her up quickly.
When she woke up, she tried to escape. But she was too terrified and shocked to move. She cried and told us, “It was so boring to repeat the same story every day! I got really bored to do the same thing again and again! That’s why I tried to escape.” She started to cry sadly. I told her to be calm and comforted her and sent her back to the forest trees.
I was sent back to my room in a second and it was just 4 o’clock in the morning. I stared at the Red Riding Hood story book and was relieved when I found that the story was like the normal one. If the story was changed, I would … I couldn’t think deeper. When I looked around, I found there were a lot of flowers on my bed! I also found a letter from the wolf . “Thank you for helping us!” I used the flowers to decorate my room and kept the letter in my drawer. I didn’t tell anyone about this exciting experience. In the morning, I walked out of my room and pretended nothing had happened. No one knew this secret except you.
