Inter-class Singing Contest
The theme of this year’s Inter-class Singing Competition is “Dream”. The event was successfully held on March 29.
All junior form classes joined the contest. One major criterion for judging the performance was the ability to perform the song with creativity. Much earlier before the competition, our class, 3C, had chosen the song “Fight Song”, of which the lyrics match with the theme of the contest this year. We kept on practising in our limited time to make sure that our voice matched with the piano, the double bass and the guitar. To demonstrate our creativity, we tried various ways of presentations, like having different combinations of the girls’ and the boys’ voices and singing with gestures, including clapping hands and stepping feet.
The key to success of our class is our persistence and unity. The whole class attended all the practices and paid our upmost effort to make improvement. We worked together to strive for one goal – performing our best.
“I might have only one match, but I can make an explosion.” “My power’s turned on. Starting right now I’ll be strong. I’ll play my fight song.” The lyrics of the song reflect our heart and determination to achieve our “Dream” – fighting for the common goal to do our best in the competition.
Our class won the champion ultimately. The teacher judges were greatly impressed by our performance as we could sing and do our gestures in unison. It is exciting news to all our classmates as our effort finally pays off.
