“Your mother will be only twenty centimeters tall tomorrow with our wrong shot of our special light to the body of your mother. We are totally sorry about that but unfortunately, you need to deal with that tomorrow. The only way to make her tall again is to give her ice cream to eat when the moon comes up,’ said an alien standing in front of me who disappeared as a beam of green light zapped. This was the only dream that I remembered as a squeaking noise woke me up.
‘Wake up, lazy bone! It is already half past nine!’ said the squeaking noise.
I soon waked up and walked towards my mum’s room and shouted, ’Mum, Were you the one who just shouted at me to wake up? Why was your…’
I was shocked by what I saw first. I saw my mum shivering behind her blanket since she was shrunk and no clothes fitted her.
‘There is no way that this is my mum!’ Then I walked back.
‘Come back here! I am your mum!’ said that squeaky noise again.
I walked back and looked closer to that shrunk woman. That was really my mum! ‘Why are you so, so small?’ I asked.
‘I don’t know and I feel so cold right now!’ said my mum as she was shivering. ‘Can you make some clothes for me?’
I quickly went to my schoolbag and found the Home Economics kit. I quickly used the fabrics inside to make some miniature style clothing that could help with my shrunk and naked mum.
I still could not believe that my mum was shrunk. I then took out a ruler and measured the length of my mum. It was exactly twenty centimeters! It matched the dream by an alien perfectly! I then remembered that the alien said, ‘The only way to make her tall again is to give her ice cream to eat when the moon comes up.’
I really wanted the night to approach faster, but how? Playing video games! I then took my mum to my room and called her to stand on the desk. I then called her to jump on the keyboard. It worked out pretty well. However, after two hours, she said, ‘I feel very hungry.’
I then thought of different food to let her eat – noodles, sushi, udon… It seemed that these types of food were way too big for her mouth. What about rice? It was the best choice for her.
I then called my mum to stay on my desk and I went to buy two bowls of rice. After a few moments, I went back home and gave the rice to her. Watching my mum to eat rice was pretty funny, while disappointing.
After eating rice, we played some more video games. However, we got quite bored after an hour since we won so many rounds. Therefore, I planned to go out with my mum.
I went to Mong Kok with my mum inside my bag. I chose Mong Kok because it was quite crowded and no one would notice my strangely sized mum.
Soon, the sun came down and the night fell. My ears suddenly heard a sound telling me to buy a cup of ice cream. I soon remembered the dream!
I then rushed to a convenience store to buy a cup of ice cream and rushed back home. I quickly took the ice cream out and fed my mum with it.
A shiny light shone towards my mum all of a sudden and I could hardly see anything. After my eyes got back to normal, I saw my normal mum.
‘Whoa!’ I said as I saw my mum. ‘The ice cream was amazingly powerful to you.’
What a day! I lived with a shrunk mum for a day and I have realized how important my mum is. Also, I realized how powerful a cup of ice cream could be. It can literally cure a human! But how about the alien? I realized some strange things to me. How could I remember a dream? Did he hack into my brain?
