Last Sunday was an unforgettable day. Something unbelievable happened! On that day, I was still in bed when the sun shone into my room through the window. I heard my mother’s voice waking me up. I opened my eyes but I could see nobody. I felt confused and I couldn’t find my mother anywhere in the house. Suddenly, I saw something moving on the floor. It was so tiny that I needed to kneel down to see what it was. Oh! It was my mother!
I lifted her up carefully with my hands and put her on the table. She told me she climbed onto the roof to repair it that morning. She was careless and fell down through the chimney. She felt dizzy but luckily, she fell onto something soft. She was shocked to find that she had become 20 cm tall!
This meant I had to take care of my mother today. It’s quite a problem as she was so tiny. It was nearly at noon and both of us were hungry. I put her on a plate, and broke some biscuits into tiny pieces for her to eat. Then I made my own lunch. After that, I put her in a small basket. I told her not to get out of it because I could hardly see her and might step on her.
I turned on the television so that she would not be bored. After watching her favourite movie, I put her on the newspaper as she wanted to read it. Suddenly, she shouted and asked me to go to the supermarket immediately! It’s because there was a big discount for one day. She insisted that I should bring her there as I didn’t know what she wanted. When we were shopping there in the evening, a woman rushed past us and my basket fell down! At the moment she fell onto the ground. Then, she grew back to normal size!
Luckily, nobody noticed how that happened at that time. The whole experience was really unbelievable and strange. Until now, we don’t know why it happened. I can still hardly believe that. Sometimes, I will wonder how the normal things look like through the eyes of a dwarf.
