One night, I was awakened by the sound of distant thunder. As I opened my eyes, I found that there was a heavy rain outside the house. I was afraid, worried and missed my dad. I was afraid because I stayed at home myself. I was worried because my mother was working outside, and now it was twelve o’clock at night, it was time for her to go home but she didn’t bring an umbrella. I missed my dad too. Last year he was hit by lightning at midnight while coming back home. Since then, he never come back home again. At this moment, I missed him every much.
Suddenly, there was a thunder again. At the same time, my dog barked loudly. I thought that it was afraid, then my dog suddenly turned quiet. I was curious, so I went to my dog. As the scene that I saw was very surprising, I nearly couldn’t say a word. I saw my dog Cookie lying on the floor, motionless. I screamed,” Cookie! Cookie! What happened? Wake up!” But it just lay on the floor.
As I wanted to shout again, Cookie suddenly woke up. Then, to my surprise, it spoke, and it was my father’s voice!
“Isabella! Oh! My child! I miss you very much. You became more beautiful!” My father voice came out from my dog. I was totally startled, and I said, “Fa… Father, is.. is that you?”
“Yes. I entreated god for a long long time, and he let me come down for one hour! We have to treasure this period!”
“Does that mean your soul has come down? Oh! I miss you a lot!” I exclaimed.
“How is your study now?”
“Oh! Guess what, I entered the singing competition and I got into the top 10 in my class!”
“Fantastic! How…”
We chatted and chatted, I was very happy because I really missed my dad very much! One hour passed quickly, and it was time for him to leave too! At last, he said, “Isabella, I had to leave now! If I have a chance again, I’ll go down to visit you and your mother again! Bye! I’ll miss you!”
Then, a loud thunder boomed again, and my dog fainted again. After a few minutes, my dog woke up. And when it saw me, it barked. I realized that my father’s soul had returned to the heaven.
The rain stopped, and my mum came back. I told her what happened, she just said, “Were you sleepwalking? Get back to your bed and sleep!” I just smiled and went to sleep.
I hoped that my dad would get the chance again!
