The pace of life of Hong Kongese is hectic. They strive for efficiency, even when they are having their meals. Simultaneously, Hong Kong has several alternatives of fast-food outlets.
Hong Kong has a variety of fast-food brands, including McDonald’s, KFC and Fairwood, etc. The meals they sell are different. For instance, KFC mainly sells deep-fried chicken, while McDonald’s mainly sells deep-fried chicken, french fries and a wide range of hamburgers. These fast-food outlets have designed some impressive logos to attract more customers to visit their eateries more often.
Having diet in these fast-food outlets are unhealthier than in other restaurants, yet people can spend less to get themselves stuffed. The average set meal price of these fast-food outlets is $20 to $30. People can save more money.
All of these fast-food outlets have their branches. The amount of these fast-food outlets increases rapidly. People can find them everywhere. These are the three main factors that Hong Kongese always go to the fast-food shops.
Students in Hong Kong, especially the secondary students, always go for lunch in fast-food outlets. The shops have less nutritious food to see. Food there contains lots of salt, preservatives and other ingredients that will make people suffer from obesity. So I suggest students trying to stay at school and eat the food offered by school’s tuck shop.
I have designed two sets of healthy menus for the school’s tuck shop to sell. In meal A, it contains a small bowl of Caesar salad, including two loaves of bread with cheese, ham and egg. For drinks, students can choose a cup of apple juice or orange juice. In meal B, it contains a box with twelve pieces of sushi. For soup, it has a bowl of Chinese-style beef vegetables. And there is also a small bottle of Yakult. Both of the set meals are sold at$24 per set.
I design these two sets of meals, not only because they’re healthy and cheap, but also when people finish eating them, they will feel satiety. It’s also convenient for students to buy their lunchboxes at school. And the meals are easily made using some common ingredients.
Hong Kongese should think carefully about where they eat.
Hong Kongese should also slow down their pace of life and eat properly instead of going for fast-food all the time.
