Charlotte’s Web

The book I would like to share is Charlotte’s Web.  This book is about a girl called Fern. Her father was going to kill a little pig which was a runt. Fern saved the pig and named it Wilbur. When Wilbur became bigger, it was sent to the barn and taken care of by someone else.  One day, other animals told him he would be slaughtered later.  The spider, Charlotte, saved its life by weaving webs with words on them. Sadly, the spider died at the end. The book is all about friendship, love and protection on the earth.

Guess what? Wilbur came to my school last week.  He came with the three little spiders.  Do you remember them?  They were Joy, Aranea and Nellie!  They all looked like Charlotte.  Wilbur told them their mother’s story and they learnt to weave webs with words.  How amazing!  There was a show time for them to weave the words.

Joy weaved a letter ‘P’, Aranea weaved the letter ‘I’ and Nellie weaved a ‘G’.  When the words came together, it was ‘PIG’.  We were so excited.  You cannot believe that they could really weave words. I thought this only happened in the story. I could not believe my eyes. How could they do it?

Wilbur said that we did not need to be surprised because Charlotte, their mother, could weave so many wonderful words. The three little spiders even said,
“We’ll give you the webs as a present if the first letter of your name is ‘P’, ‘I’ or ‘G’.”

I was very delighted as my name is ‘Phoebe’.  I got the web with ‘P’ on the stage and shook hand with Joy. Oh God! I shook hand with a spider! I was trembling that time.  When I was getting down from the stage, Wilbur told me a secret.  What was it? I am sorry. I have to keep it secret.
