She is young, but not slim and beautiful. Instead, she is muscular with dull skin. The sunny smile on her face makes her attractive and easy for recogniation. She is a well-known Hong Kong’s hero as well as the person I admire very much. She is Lee Wai Sze, Sarah.
I admire Sarah because she made her own life a miracle. She grew up in Ngau Tau Kok in relative poverty and she shared a 200 square-feet flat with her parents and two older siblings. Although born with anemia, she overcame all the difficulties and joined the athletic team when she was a teenager. Thus, her talent was spotted by the Hong Kong Cycling Association. Unfortunately, she was seriously injured in an accident during training. However, she did not give up but tried her best to have a speedy recovery. Her never- say- die spirit helped her to make her dream come truth.
After working hard for years, she is now a successful cyclist. In the past years, she won different international events including Asian Games, Olympic Games and Asian Cycling Championships. Recently, she even got the championship in UCI World Track Championships and wrote a new page in Hong Kong’s history. Although she is a famous person, she never forgets ’Modesty leads to progress, arrogance makes you drop behind’. She is humble enough and never forgets to express her thankful heart to her helpful coach as well as our Heavenly Father.
I admire Sarah very much. I also learn some precious lessons from her story. Life is full of difficulties but we are granted enough courage and wisdom to tackle. If I am willing to try, I can also make my dream come true.
