Proposal for a dessert shop in The BIG in Tsimshatsui

1. Introduction
I would like to propose establishing a dessert shop in The Big. The dessert shop would sell various kinds of attractive and adorable desserts. In fact, running a dessert shop could be a profitable business.

2. Details of the dessert shop
2.1 Chinese style dessert
The shop would offer some traditional Chinese style dessert which is very tasty like sesame paste, steamed egg with milk dessert and tofu pudding etc. They could be easily made with simple ingredients.

2.2 Fusion dessert
Fusion is a characteristic in our multicultural society. Fusion desserts could be sold in the shop. For example, the world famous egg tarts – a mixture of English custard tart and Chinese sweet eggs could attract the tourists.

2.3 Trendy dessert
The shop could also introduce desserts from other countries like Green tea ice-cream from Japan, frozen yogurt from the USA, Pearl milk tea from Taiwan and so on. Since Hong Kongers love exploring new things, it is very likely that these trendy desserts would be popular.

2.4 Self-designed dessert
If the customers wish to design their own flavor, the dessert chef could make the dessert according to what the customersorder.

3. Target customers
3.1 Tourists
A lot of tourists would like to visit Tsimshatsui which is one of the must-go tourist attractions in Hong Kong. They would be attracted by the special Hong Kong style dessert as they would enjoy having a taste of it in such a gourmet paradise.

3.2 Teenagers
Teenagers are trendy. They may be attracted by those newly-invented desserts and also the self-designed ones. Although their purchasing power may not be strong, they can afford the price of a dessert.

4. Marketing strategies
4.1 Online Advertisement
Setting up a fans page on Facebook could advertise the feature desserts online. This could enable the desserts lovers to have more ideas about the desserts we would sell. Special offer would be given if the users can share the web page to 20 people.

4.2 Discount
It is planned that a discount of 10% will be given to the customers if they spend at least $100 in our shop. Teenagers with lower purchasing power would come to the shop with their friends because of the discount.

4.3 Group-buying
By offering the coupons for our dessert at significantly reduced prices on the condition that a minimum number of buyers would make the purchase, we could attract more potential buyers who would have little idea about the shop before.

5. Mutual Benefits
5.1 Influx of patrons
Providing the above special offer would attract more customers to the dessert shop. Thus, there would be an influx of patrons in The BIG.

5.2 Lottery game
By organizing a lottery game in the mall, more customers would come to The BIG more frequently. If the customers spend $200 in any restaurantincluding dessert shop, they would be given a chance to play the lottery game once.

6. Conclusion
A dessert shop is indeed one of the most suitable shops which fit the characteristics of Tsimshatsui. I sincerely hope that this proposal will be approved.
