Everyone wants to have a wonderful life, being wealthy, having a big house and most importantly, living in their dreams.  The Bauldelaires had all they wanted, all they needed.  But after a mysterious fire which burnt their house, and killed their parents, they got nothing at all.  They were first sent to Count Olaf’s house.  But after the police discovered Count Olaf wanted to own the Baudelaires’ fortune, they were sent to a boarding school which was ’protected’ by a super computer.  Of course, the computer was not reliable.  Count Olaf pretended to be a new P.E. teacher, Mr. Geunghis and sneaked into the school.
At school, the Bauldelaires were bullied by the other students.  Luckily, there were The Quagmire triplets, who were also orphans, to help them.
The principal of the school treated his students badly.  If they entered the principal’s office, they couldn’t use silverware during their meal.  The Bauldelaires always gave up their silverware privileges to enter the office and warn the principal that Mr. Geunghis was Count Olaf, but they never succeeded.
Mr. Geunghis ordered the Baulderlaires to run laps after their dinner until sunrise.  The Bauldelaires couldn’t disobey him.  Every night after dinner, the Bauldelaires kept running and running.  They were exhausted, but they still needed to run.  They wondered why Count Olaf told them to run laps.  Was it a plot?  They didn’t know.  Count Olaf was too cunning.  Nobody could figure out what he was thinking
Would their fortune be harmed?  Would they be suspended?  Read this book for the answers and the Bauldelaires’ destiny.
This is a very special book as its ending is unpleasant.  The words in this book were very well used, and the scenes were vividly described by the author. I felt like I was in the shoes of the Bauldelaires and solving problems with them.
The Bauldelaires have made me think.  Those kids were exceedingly clever.  In whatever situation, they could still figure out a plan and action.  But children nowadays don’t even know how to tie their shoelaces when they are six years old.  They always have a maid nearby to help them.  The Baulderlaires had to deal with too many hurdles which they couldn’t handle and suffered a lot.  But they still had no fear.  I am not a brave person; I would simply give up when I am in trouble.  Sometimes, I don’t even bother to ask for help.
In this book I have learnt a very important thing – to treasure everything and every day.  The Baulderlaires could lose all their things in just one day, even their dearest parents.  When they went to their guardians’ houses, they treasured every day when Count Olaf was not around to snatch their fortune.  I think what the Baulderlaires treasured most were their parents and their love.  They lost them in one fire.  But they always remembered their moments with them.  I’m lucky to have my parents still alive to love me and take care of me.  But I’m always headstrong.  I don’t listen to them and make them worry about me.  I’m too naïve and immature.  I’m 15 years old but I act like a 9 year old.  I don’t consider whether my words or act will hurt the others’ heart, and I just have my way.  This is my parents’ greatest worry. But I could change, and I’ll try my best to behave.
There are still many books in this series that I haven’t finished.  But I’m sure, this series of book are awesome books which inspire you.
