David fell in love with Amy the first day he saw her. He thought that Amy was sincere and beautiful. David pretended to ask Amy about the Economics homework and chatted with her at the recess time. When the bell rang, he asked, ‘Would you like to go to the cinema with me on Saturday?’
Amy blushed and said, ‘I’d love to.’ Amy thought that David was her Prince Charming. Both of them treated this as a date.
On Saturday morning, Amy got up early and went shopping. She went into ‘Fashion House’ which sold brands such as Chanel and LV. She bought a few pieces of expensive clothing. After that, she went to the hair salon and had a haircut. She gained confidence with her new hairstyle and she went back home to change her clothes.
That evening, Amy’s mum was totally shocked with Amy’s new look. She thought, ‘That’s not Amy!’ However, being her mother, she had to praise Amy. Amy was excited. She dressed totally differently from the past and wore a little makeup. She was waiting for David at the entrance of the cinema.
David was not late. He was hiding behind the wall. ‘That girl looks like Amy; however, it’s not Amy I’m sure. Maybe…’ David walked to Amy and Amy blushed again. David said, ‘Hi, Auntie. Is Amy not coming? I can understand. Maybe she doesn’t want to go out with me, Oops…’
There was an awkward pause before Amy replied. She said, ‘Oh, hmm…I think…Yes…Amy is sick. Actually, she’s in bed now. She’s not coming. It’s nice to talk to you but I’ve got to go now.’ Amy turned away to hide her embarrassment. She made a complete prat of herself. This was a so-called date with her Prince Charming. What a joke!
