Have you heard of the story of Sleeping Beauty and Snow White? Their endings were so perfect and glorious in the fairyland. However, I have just heard about a new version. Let me tell you now.
Sleeping Beauty is a plump princess and she doesn’t like to stay in her palace. That’s why she always escapes from the palace to the outside world to explore and also find new foodstuff for her to try. On the other hand, Snow White is a poor and skinny girl who lives with seven dwarfs. They always worry about the food supply. As Snow White is the oldest among all other dwarfs, she has to explore the forest they live in to discover new food substances. There is a dark corner inside the forest throughout the day where a scary witch lives. She always tries new methods for inventing new food substances. She has invited so many people, animals to the corner to try her new food invention. However, all of them are scared away by her horrible face.
The witch has tried different methods to attract different animals or people to try her food but she always fails.
An apple looking tasty is invented by the witch this time. ‘I’d rather put this apple under an apple tree and hide myself nearby instead of asking people to try it,’ she thinks. After that she carefully puts the apple on a tree properly and hides herself to wait for people to try.
Sleeping Beauty keeps on exploring after she escapes from the palace while Snow White is finding food for the dwarfs in the forest. Suddenly, a strong light beams to both of their eyes at the same time. It is not the Sun, but it is the look of the yummy apple. Both of them don’t care about anything except the apple. They dash to the apple, crossing over stones, branches and stems. In the end, Sleeping Beauty gets the apple while Snow White collapses as she crashes with a boar. Sleeping Beauty immediately tries the apple.’ It tastes…too bad…’She can’t accept any food which is tasting bad, so she falls also.
At that time a prince passes by, seeing only Sleeping Beauty lying on the floor. ‘Hey! Lady, are you okay?’ he asks but receives no response.’ According to what my grandfather said, ‘Kiss him/her when you want to wake him/her up.’ Therefore, the next action the prince takes is to kiss Sleeping Beauty whom he doesn’t know at all.
‘You can’t do this!’ the witch shouts and pushes the prince away from Sleeping Beauty.’ I just want to help…he is knocked over by the witch with his head crashing with a stone. Once again someone collapses.
However, the kiss seems to work. Sleeping Beauty opens her eyes slowly and she first sees the witch. She claims that the witch is the one who wakes her up. ‘Thank you so much!’ Sleeping Beauty says. The witch asks, ‘Are you afraid of my scary face?’, ‘Of course not. Although you look scary and I don’t know who you are, you must be nice since you have wakened me up.’
Finally, Sleeping Beauty becomes the first one who agrees to be invited to the dark corner to try new food invention. How about the prince and Snow White? Both of them are waiting for another prince and princess to wake them up respectively…
