Dear Classmates,

“Have you done your TV News regularly?” This is the question which our teacher always asks.  I know some of you may get bored of this question and the task.  However, have you ever thought about the benefits of doing TV News?  Have you ever known that it could help not only your studies but also your future?  I am going to tell you the little secret of doing TV News that you may have never imagined.
There are many benefits of doing TV News.  Firstly, it helps us to learn in a relaxed way. We always learn English using textbooks in lesson, but for TV News, we learn from the Net through watching videos.  This is a new way to help us to learn actively.
Moreover, doing the online practice enriches our English vocabulary. From the video clips, there are many vocabulary items related to different topics. By doing the exercises, we know their meanings and how they are used. We could also try to use them by making sentences ourselves. TV News can definitely enhance our English level.
What is more, finishing the exercise improves our listening skills. Practice makes perfect.  If we do the practices regularly and seriously, we will be used to listening to English and we will gain the ability to communicate with people from other countries.
On top of that, doing the work lets us know more about the society.  It is said that students rely so much on textbooks that they know nothing about the current affairs. With TV News, we can widen our horizons.
Last, but not least, TV News helps develop our self-learning habit. Although the bonus marks may not sound attractive, we need to take the initiative to do it and to really gain from it, we have to be serious. Therefore, this can even benefit our future as we could develop a good self-discipline.
In short, doing TV News helps us to learn English in a different way. It also empowers our vocabulary and boosts our listening skills.  It opens our eyes and develops our self-learning habit.  All these bring advantages to our studies and even our future.  Now, won’t you do your TV News regularly, actively and seriously? Don’t hesitate! Start it right now!

           Yours sincerely,
