No One Is Perfect

Good morning principal, teachers and fellow schoolmates,
I am the Chairperson of the Sports Club, Chris Wong from 4C. Teenagers nowadays are so conscious about their appearance, and some even go to great lengths to make themselves look better. I am here today to introduce to you some useful tips and ideas about losing weight.
There are many advertisements about diet pills, diet milkshakes and diet congee on the TV nowadays. However, I would like to remind you that all these products cannot help us to lose weight. Some of them even bring harm to our bodies! There was a case in the US. that a girl wanted to keep fit so she bought diet pills on the Internet. After taking those pills, she became mad. As we didn’t know much about the ingredients in the pills, we should not take them for reducing weight.
There is also a way that you may think is less dangerous than taking pills, that is eating very little every day. I bet some of you have tired this method before or is even doing it right now. Some of you may try to skip one or even two meals a day. It seems that this doesn’t bring any adverse effect to your body right now. However, if you try to skip meals for a long period of time, you may suffer from some stomach diseases or even heart diseases. Every meal pays an important role in our everyday life. I have once forgotten to eat my breakfast. You guess what happened to me? I fainted in school and was sent to hospital! Therefore, never try to skip your meals or eat very little. Food is important in giving us energy every day.
After persuading you to give up those unhealthy methods, I should offer you some healthy methods, right?
As the Chairperson of the Sports Club, I think you will know that the best method that I recommend for losing weight is doing exercise. For me, I go to the gym or sports ground four to five times a week. I work out for at last one hour every time. Some of you may complain that after doing exercise, you become hungry and gain weight because of eating too much. I suggest you avoid eating snacks just after exercise and have a regular meal after one hour. The snacks could be fruits or anything that contains little fat.
The other effective way of losing weight is to choose what you eat carefully. You should eat more vegetables and fruits, and drink more water. Since these foods help your stomach to digest food and excrete excessive materials outside your body.
Finally, I would like to remind you all that no one is prefect. We should not concentrate much on our appearance. We should embrace ourselves and try to appreciate others and our good points. We look good when we are healthy. This is the end of my presentation. Thank you!
