Every year,our student union requests the school for letting us bring our mobile phones to school.In my opinion,students shouldn’t bring their mobile phones to school.Let me explain why.
First,if students bring their mobile phones to school,they may not reject the temptation of using smartphones because of the games and communication softwares.They will use their mobile phones during lunch,recess and even lesson time!It will make them not able to concentrate in the lesson.They will then face a decline in academic performance.It will affect their future!
Secondly,it hurts students’ health.Nowadays,people are accustomed to looking constantly at their smartphones.What if students still keep their concentration on their mobile phones when they go to school and go back home?It hurts their eyes and different parts very much!Worse still,it may cause accidents when they cross the road!
Others say that there are not enough phones for students to communicate with their parents in school.However,students won’t use phones at the same time and there are breaks for students to communicate with their parents .Also,others say that parents would be worried their children’s safety,so students need mobile phones.However,there are payphones everywhere in Hong Kong.Students can communicate with parents everywhere actually.If students really get in danger,they actually cannot use mobile phones already.Therefore there is nothing wrong of not bringing mobile phones.
Overall,bringing mobile phones is not necessary for students.It may even hurt students’ safety and academic performance.I believe that students can protect themselves,so mobile phones are not needed.
