Roald Dahl is a writer who writes children’s English storybooks. He started writing stories when he had children. Actually, he had never been thinking of writing books in the future when he was young. He wanted to be a doctor! He was inspired by his children and made up different kinds of stories for children. His children enjoyed his stories very much. Then, he thought of writing them out and shared the stories with other children—and he did. His books became very popular and some of them were made into movies: Jack and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fantastic Mr. Fox and some other books.
Roald Dahl became my favorite writer because I found his books very interesting and really appreciate his creativity. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is my favorite book. This book is about a boy called Charlie. He was very poor and lived with his parents and grandparents. There was a chocolate factory near his home and it was owned by a man called Willy Wonka. Charlie was lucky and had a chance to visit the factory with four other lucky children—Augustus, Violet, Veruca and Mike. During the visit, Charlie and the four children saw many amazing and wonderful things that they had never seen before. Unfortunately, the other four children were very naughty and strange things happened to them. Charlie was the only one who did not have any strange things happening on him. In the end, Willy Wonka gave him the whole chocolate factory as a prize! I really wish that I was Charlie!
Although Roald Dahl has already died, his books are still very popular.
