Dear Editor
I have started reading the English newspaper since September and I have found a lot of benefits of reading English newspapers. It makes me like to read English newspapers more and more. Let me share my experience with all readers.
Reading English newspapers, I can learn more new words and informal expressions that I cannot learn in class or textbooks. I can use the words in my daily life and also in the English lessons. For example, the “vocabulary phrases” page of the Young Post teaches us a lot of phrases that we may not know. This is very interesting. It uses a fun way to explain the meaning of those phrases, so I like it very much and I enjoy reading this page.
Moreover, reading English newspapers, I can gain a better understanding of the English language. It improves my English standard. Students may feel bored if they just sit and listen to the teachers, but they can understand English in an easier and more interesting way through English newspapers. Also, reading English newspapers, I can know more about English grammar and improve my writing skills. I can see lots of sentences of different structures, and learn how to use different tenses or language structures at different times. I can then use them in writing.
The piece of news that I like most is about ‘music eggs’. The chickens that listen to music every day have eggs with bigger yolks, almost twice as large as others’. I think it is very interesting and increases my interest of reading English newspapers.
Reading English newspapers has a lot of benefits so everyone should read it every day and find much fun in it. Let’s enjoy reading newspapers.
Yours faithfully
