I was born twelve years ago as a baby girl and now I’m twelve. I have experienced many things through these years. Some were sad but some were happy. I’m just an ordinary girl and I have nothing to boast, but things to be proud of. The three things that I’m proud of, which are also the most important three things in my life, are my parents, my primary school and my achievements in music.
First, my parents are very important to me and they are brilliant! They graduated from university and are now successful people. They are very educated. They give me love and care. They also take care of me, give me good education and teach me lessons of life. They teach me all they know, provide me a shelter and give me food and clothings. I really want to thank them. Also, their DNA and characters passed on to me so I have good memory, a clear mind and good communication skills. I love my parents!
Second, my primary school, Alliance Primary School (Kowloon Tong) is a famous primary school indeed. The teachers are hard-working and they teach us all they know and help us to prepare for our Form 1 studies. They also trained us to be an independent student. They gave us extra lessons after school which made us feel relaxed in Form 1 as I have already learned the topics. My primary school also invited Dr Ooi, the director of “Shakespeare for All” who is a 70-year-old English Professor to teach us English Literature. My primary school gave extra lessons to those who were good at that subject and at the same time, the teachers gave more concern or exercises for those who were weak in the subject. I’m proud to be an alumnus in this school. I love my school!
Third, I’m proud of my music skills, which are at a really high level to a teenager at my age. I achieved Grade 8 of Royal School of Music in flute playing and Grade 7 of Royal School of Music in piano. I like playing the piano and the flute. It makes me feel relaxed and gives me a rest after busy weekdays and I will forget my worries in playing the music instruments. I also love joining Orchestra and forming a band to play beautiful music. Also, I am quite good at singing. I’ve joined the choir since my primary school and I totally love it. We won many prizes every year. I suggest my classmates join the orchestra and the choir. I also recommend songs of Glee, a popular sitcom of America to my classmates.
These are the three things that I’m proud of. My parents and my primary school might be ordinary to you but I think they are important to my lives. I don’t boast and I don’t tease others, because everyone is different. We can’t tease them about their weakness. No one is perfect but every one is unique and different.
