One night, I was awakened by the sound of distant thunder. As I opened my eyes, I discovered that I was on a gigantic surgery table. Lying beside me were two boys about ten years old. One of them was a vampire, and there was also a female Egyptian mummy. I looked outside. There were streaks of light which, I thought, should be stars. Evidently, we were in a spaceship which was travelling quickly. The kids woke up and we introduced ourselves.
“The humans have woken up,” said a voice. I looked up to see the largest robot I have ever seen. It was mainly white, with some red parts which looked like an ambulance.
“Good,” said a deeper voice. I whirled around to see another robot. “I am Optimus Prime, we will not harm you,” it announced. “We are the Autobots. This is Ratchet,” he gestured towards the first robot. As he was speaking, I studied him and saw lots of parts from a red truck. There were giant pieces on his shoulders too.
“We have brought you here to teach us about human biology just in case Ratchet would need the knowledge to save humans.”
“To tell you the truth, we don’t know much,” Resus, the vampire said. “Besides, I think this is kidnapping…”
“Shh!” I whispered.
“Why?”
“Do you want to get squashed beneath their body parts? I don’t. So don’t offend them.”
“But they said they won’t harm humans.”
“They could lie, you know.”
“We will send you home,” Optimus said.
“Optimus, we are under attack,” a feminine voice said through the ship’s broadcasting system.
“Do not let them destroy the engines, Arcee. Hold them off with the cannon,” Optimus replied. “We need to get the children back home.”
“Is this a warship? Could we see the weapons room?” Resus asked.
“Come with us.”
They brought us there, but the first thing Ratchet said was not encouraging. “Don’t touch anything.”
In the room, there were lots of weapons, from Autobot-sized to hamster-sized. They were marked with labels with unintelligible (alien?) symbols.
“Hey, what’s this?” Resus asked and slipped his hand into a glove lying on the floor.
It wrapped around his forearm and he could not get it off.
“There should be a release button somewhere,” I told him.
“There are two buttons. What if the other one’s a ‘constrict’ button? I couldn’t read these alien symbols!”
The Autobots came back, fully armed. “Didn’t I tell you not to touch anything?” Ratchet asked. “The button closest to your hand is the release button. The other releases a grappling hook. Here are three exo-suits. Optimus said you can each get a weapon to help us fight the enemies.”
“We went through an air-lock and arrived in the cannon room. Arcee was sitting behind a gigantic double-barreled cannon. She was blue and smaller than the two. There were also two more robots, a bulky green pickup truck robot called Bulkhead and a small yellow sports car robot called Bumblebee. They were firing at the five robotic spaceships following us. Optimus told us to fire at them and we did, my gun’s blasts eating away at their metallic armour. Soon, the battle was over and we were victorious.
When we got back to the control room, Ratchet pulled a lever and a glowing green portal opened up.
“This is a GroundBridge,” he said. “It will transport you home.”
I stepped through the portal and ended up in a dark street.
“This will be the worst excuse ever for missing class,” Resus quipped.
Ratchet stepped through and said, “Hey, it’s not your stop yet.” So I stepped back through.
Ratchet turned it off, typed in some symbols, and reopened the GroundBridge portal. I said goodbye to all the Autobots and stepped through. I went immediately to bed and fell asleep, exhausted.
